This whimsical spring wedding was a literary dream come true for these newlyweds and their love for books. Starting with their invitation we designed a short book reciting the details of their love story and what the guests needed to know about their wedding day. Guests would RSVP by a borrowing card as if they were checking out a book at the library. This added a playful and interactive element to the wedding preparations. It’s a charming way for guests to indicate their attendance and further emphasizes the couple’s love for literature.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a high-end farm-to-table venue that was the perfect setting for this event. It was important to this couple that we continue what Blue Hill is about, and make sure we design the rest of their wedding to be eco-friendly throughout the night.
Since sustainability was a priority, we made sure to incorporate eco-friendly elements into our floral designs. To start, we used a biodegradable oasis as the base for all of our floral arrangements wherever needed. This not only ensured the longevity of the flowers but also minimized any negative impact on the environment. For a whimsical touch, we provided biodegradable dried flower petals for guests to toss during the couple’s departure at the end of the ceremony. It’s a beautiful and traditional way for guests to shower the newlyweds with love and congratulations, while also being mindful of the impact on the environment. But we didn’t stop there! We wanted to give the guests something special to take home and cherish. That’s why we created escort cards made from paper embedded with seeds so guests can take the cards home to plant them in their gardens. Instead of using traditional table numbers, this couple used the titles of their favorite books. This provided them with an effortless means to incorporate their unique personality and passion for books into their reception decor.
We believe that every detail counts, and by incorporating these eco-friendly elements, we were able to make this spring wedding not only colorful and vibrant but also sustainable and environmentally conscious. It was an honor to be a part of such a special day, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a fairytale-like celebration that aligns with the couple’s values and personalities.
