It’s the time we begin to get into the holiday spirit as it officially feels like November with Thanksgiving right around the corner! When we think of the fall, we automatically think of an abundance of beautiful colors from rusty oranges, vibrant reds to bright yellows, and love to include them in our wedding designs! During this time of the month we are still celebrating the harvest season, but getting excited to head into winter sooner than we think, and we know it’s hard to decide which direction you want your fall wedding to go. Whether you want to show off the stunning colors of autumn or get a little moody in a wintery way, we are here to share with you a few of our favorite November wedding colors stories that could be the perfect fit for you!

The first color story that we love for any fall wedding and especially November weddings is Burnt Orange. Orange is such a beautiful color because it comes in so many different shades and tones. From light clay, rust, pumpkin, sunset, tangerine, deep orange and more, there are an ample number of shades on the color wheel that can compliment this theme. One of our favorite ways to tie in this color scheme is within the bridal party. Incorporating a tone of orange into your bridesmaids’ dresses is a fabulous way to show it off! Another way you can really accent with this color story is of course in your flowers and decor. There are so many gorgeous flowers that come in different shades of orange that we love to use all year, but since many are native to blooming in the fall, we like to take extra advantage of them! From orange ranunculus, scabiosa, pincushions, anthurium and more, have fun mixing and matching your orange blooms to create the perfect décor for your wedding. An additional positive factor while featuring an orange color scheme is that you can include natural fall features like pumpkins and leaves to enhance your theme. Incorporate your color into all of your fabrics such as table runners, napkins, swags and more to give your space dimension. Lastly, it’s fun to play with hard goods that compliment this look like copper and antique metals to complete your look.

The next color story we believe works beautifully for a November wedding is Forest Green. What we love so much about this color palette is the variety of décor elements that can be featured to truly enhance your wedding. To us this color story leans more toward a late November wedding while tying into the holidays, but that doesn’t mean it cant work anytime of the month! Firstly, you can never go wrong with lots of natural greenery. The more greens the better, and why not show off your color palette in terms of your floral décor! From garland, centerpieces, archways, bouquets and more, the greens create a stunning presentation. Another way to accent with this theme is by including it in your bridal party attire. It’s becoming a very trendy color for not only bridesmaids dresses, but also sashes, bowties, ties, vests and more! Also including greenery in different décor elements from table runners, taper candles, stemware, invitations and charger plates is a really fun way to feature the color without over powering your space.

Now we are moving on to one of our favorite “color couples;” Burgundy & Brown. Burgundy has been trending for the last few years and we admit we still love it just the same! Burgundy is a color that is special because it can compliment almost every wedding theme and all seasons. For the fall, we absolutely love the combination of burgundy and brown together to create a rich autumn feel. Burgundy comes in an assortment of shades, whether it has a red, purple or brown undertone to it, it can tailor to many different looks and styles. Burgundy is one of our favorite colors in the flower world and we think if you’re using this color story you should take advantage of the stunning selection of burgundy flowers for your wedding. A few of our favorite include dahlias, scabiosa, ranunculus, spray roses, astilbe, astrantia and more. Don’t forget to dress up your girls in stunning shades of burgundy for a picture perfect bridal party. Getting creative with this color story is interesting because you have many choices for example; deep dark burgundy tones with chocolate accents to light and rich shades of burgundy complimented by natural wood elements. You can mix and match with shades of burgundy and brown to create a stunning presentation that is personalized to your décor taste seamlessly.

The last color story that we’re going to show off today is somewhat new in the wedding world, but we are loving this trend. We like to refer to this color palette as Potters Clay, which refers to a mix of neutrals, taupe, and putty. Colors in potters clay work so well to compliment each other because so many of these tones are seen by the eye on an every day basis in natural elements. From slate, tan, beige, grey, taupe, sand, browns and more, we see these colors all around us especially during the fall season, so why not accentuate it with a new flare for a beautiful aesthetic. Since this color story has such a neutral base, we find that it is also a nice touch to add in complimenting colors outside of this wheel including shades of amber, mustard, turquoise and peach. Adding in a accent color pop is the best way to accentuate your look while staying true to your neutral theme. Using autumn flowers is a great accent for this color story as well as using décor pieces including charger plates, candles sticks, copper stemware, wooden furniture and more to keep your look fresh and sophisticated. Don’t forget to add in mixed metals and antique gold for a touch of understated glamour.
