First and foremost, we want to touch base on the Thanksgiving theme. Now of course the main theme is Thanksgiving/holiday, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play up this theme while personalizing it to your taste. There are a few different ways we love to incorporate themes into wedding designs. When we think of Thanksgiving we often think changing leaves, pumpkins, corn stalks and a rustic natural vibe. So why not incorporate this ambiance into your big day! A rustic themed wedding is perfect for this holiday feel while being complimented with accents like mason jars, tin buckets, wine barrel, hay bails and more. This style works really nicely for both an indoor and outdoor space. Secondly, we love a festive holiday theme that lends itself towards a more chic aesthetic with lots of holiday finishes! Use beautiful copper stem wear, gold flat wear, velvet linens, decorative chargers and more. Dress up your wedding with a fabulous twist to a new and improved holiday vibe. Thanksgiving can truly be interpreted however you want it to be with a harvest inspiration in mind. We say have fun and play it up while including new and old traditions to get into your holiday season!

When we think Thanksgiving of course the first thing that comes to mind is food! Food can make or break a holiday, as the main event is to gather with family and friends around the table. Why not get creative and bring in a few our your favorite holiday meals to remind your guests what this season is all about. We love the new twist on traditional holiday dishes that still giving you a cozy home cooked feel. There are a few staple ideas that we love to incorporate from the Thanksgiving Day menu and we are thrilled to see how they are modernized. A mashed potato bar is a fun cocktail hour station, prepared in martini glasses with a variety of mashed and all the fixings! Of course a turkey carving station is a must for a Thanksgiving wedding, as your guests will be expecting this part of the feast! Another fun classic is mini chicken potpie hor dourves to be passed around. What says Thanksgiving more than that! Another creative idea it to get fancy with is your cocktail menu. Remember the new tradition of a signature “bride and groom drink?” We say why not make it Thanksgiving, apple cider cocktails it is! Get cheeky with your cider by adding in a personalized twist. Make this drink your something new with a fancy cocktail composed of that apple cider goodness for a holiday feel. Lastly, what is Thanksgiving without pie? Switch out the classic Viennese table for a pie bar! A pie bar is such a great way to compliment your theme without over doing it. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, peach pie and more! Showcase a variety of sweet pies with ice cream for a feel good treat at the end of the night.

As our followers, I’m sure many of you had a peak at last weeks blog on Fall Color Palettes so we won’t go too much into detail again. However, what we will say when picking colors for a fall holiday wedding you cant go wrong with the classic foliage palette. Shades of red, orange, yellow, brown, neutrals, plums and more are the way to go! These colors are represented all throughout nature in the fall season and they are held near and dear to our hearts as a classic “Thanksgiving color scheme.” Show them off in your bridal party attire, bouquets, centerpieces, linens, backdrops and more! A classic look for your thanksgiving inspired wedding is as quaint and simple as it is appealing.

As we often say, flowers hold a special place in our hearts…especially fall blooms we may add! When picking flowers for your Thanksgiving inspired wedding, we want you to have fun with it! The first step is picking the base of your floral arrangements. We like to use a neutral color story that also offers a free spirited style. Lots of greens like ruscus, eucalyptus and evergreens. Next, accent with classic fall blooms like wheat grass, cattails and oak leaves. When it comes to picking your fall blooms, there are a variety of options that will beautifully compliment the theme from ranunculus, scabiosa, anthirium, mums, daisies, sunflowers and more! Play up the colors, textures and style of these novelty flowers for a dimensional look. We love incorporating flowers into all aspects of your wedding whether it’s centerpieces, personals, floral arches and photo boots, the more the merrier! A Thanksgiving wedding is more festive and warm than the average wedding, so play it up. Light the room up with tons of candles, florals and other accents to feel like you’re celebrating this beautiful union on a cozy Thanksgiving Thursday.

Thanksgiving is the holiday of feasting, and there are many assets that we think of when it comes to setting the holiday table. Pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, haystacks, cornstalks, leaves and more! These holiday features have been presented to us year after year as traditional décor, and as we know it can get tiring, were here to show you how to make it relevant, modern and beautiful for your Thanksgiving wedding. Pumpkins are one of the first things we love to use while decorating a fall wedding. They are such a staple item that can work for so many different décor features. From centerpiece, aisle runners, escort tables and more, have fun with different color pumpkins and get creative! White pumpkins are one of our favorite ways to keep the theme alive with a more sophisticated feel. Next thing we love to bring in is fall foliage. This can be represented in a magnitude of creative ways. Maybe including bright colorful oak leaves as your photo booth backdrop, cornstalks at the entrance of your ceremony church, or place cards made out of gold painted acorns. Using small bits and pieces of these traditional décors is festive and inclusive without going overboard. The last décor element that we think brings a holiday centerpiece to life is fruit. Fresh fruit elements remind of us of the first Thanksgiving and not only bring lots of color and texture, but a sentimental value. Including fresh fruits like pears, apples, pomegranates and persimmons add that homey and warm look. Fruits can be used accenting your reception tables, mixed in with your floral arrangements and displayed throughout other aspects of the room.
