The first thing that we find our Halloween couples love is a dark mysterious color palette and attire. This can range from a variety of wedding day looks from many dark veils, black wedding gowns, subtle spooky accents and more. As we talked about in our previous blogs, who says wedding dresses have to be white anyway! Get your spell on and wear a gorgeous black tulle gown, a ghostly gray veil and accent with deep jewel tones.

A traditional wedding element that isn’t usually known with regard to Halloween is flowers decor. There is not a specific type of flower per se, but there are definitely varieties that we love to use for obscure and unique weddings especially in a Halloween kind of way. Shades including purple, burgundy, burnt orange, blood red, gray, mossy green and black are just a few perfect colors to accent. As flowers are so naturally beautiful, it may be hard to make them look strange and spooky. But with the right color story, we can find a way! Varieties like anenome, wheat, succulents, roses, spray roses, astilbe, Picasso callas and more. We also love adding in art effects by spraying blooms to get a new design twist.

The next necessity every great theme wedding needs is of course one of a kind tablescapes. This can include so many different elements to really bring this Halloween inspired room to life. The first step we suggest is picking a table décor base. Using dark wood tables or creative black linens is a great way to start. Next, tableware can make all of the difference. Black charger plates, dark purple napkins, gothic stemware and interesting cutlery options are all fun way to add to your theme. Since Halloween is all about the dark, you of course need to include lots and lots of candles. This can range from cream candles to colorful moody shades as well. When it comes to Halloween centerpieces, there are many different aspects you can enhance your table with. We love to use lots of pumpkins and other Halloween props such as spooky little treats that really make your table stand out.

The over all feel of the room will bring the party to life. Ambiance and environment truly “makes or breaks” a theme party so it’s important to add in thematic accents. Whether it’s creating a creepy ceremony space or a ghoulish cake table, specialty drinks and more -incorporating Halloween elements is encouraged. Artifacts such as ghouls, flying bats, spider webs, black cats, fangs, Halloween monster and more, you can never go wrong with enhancing your theme to be bigger and better! Adding some of your favorite Halloween movie references is also a really fun way to make it personal to you. Have fun incorporating the theme into your paper goods including menus, invitations, greeting boards and more by using gothic letters, spooky texts and eerie images. This is a fun way to get your guests in the spirit as well!
