It all started with a bucket list dream, and a once in a lifetime proposal! Lauren dreamed of watching the sunrise on the east coast and getting to watch the sunset on the west coast on the exact same day. After three years together, her fiancé Chris made her dream came true; not only did he put a check on her bucket list, but also that very same day, he made Lauren his fiancé!

A perfect question to ask a bride and groom while choosing their venue is what do you imagine the room to look like when you walk in the first time as husband and wife. Lauren and Chris knew exactly what they were looking for and found it at the famous Riverhead Suffolk Theater. “We really wanted something different, something old world that felt as if you were walking into a large party and celebration,” Lauren explained, and this is exactly what they got! Lauren told us that her main inspiration was not only to be unique, yet, to go back to another era, and that era was Gatsby!

The day started with a romantic and sweet ceremony at on old fashion traditional church, the perfect start to this back in time inspired day. The bride wore a gorgeous fit and flare gown from Essence Designs and complimented it with a floor length veil and a fur stole for the December chill. Lauren walked down the aisle with a gorgeous wintery bouquet composed of sage green, creams and red blooms. Walking with her father, before he gave her away to Chris is something she will never forget! Guest gathered as Chris and Lauren exchanged vows, and congratulated them with a cloud of bubbles outside the church as they headed off to their reception.

As guest entered the Riverhead Suffolk Theater through the old ticket box office, golden streamers hung down from a ceiling full of balloons and guest knew they had stepped back in time. They were back in the roaring twenties at this glamorous reception!

Cocktail hour in the secret bar and the vintage ambiance from the theater was a flawless start to the night! The doors to the theater open, and the room lit up! High palm leaf centerpieces and gold accents filled the room. The saying is true, “there ain’t no party like the Gatsby party,” and this wedding was not going to let us down!

The old theater stage was so full of life as New York City Swing was playing all of the hits, as the screen behind them featured old music videos, which was one of the bride and grooms favorite parts.

The tables were dressed with sequin linens, gold charger plates, fun yet classic centerpieces and mercury glass candles, which created a glowing atmosphere. When we asked Lauren what her favorite part of the theater was, it was a hard question for her to answer, “I can’t really just pick one favorite part because the whole atmosphere was just amazing!”

And amazing it was! A night full of family, friends, dancing and gorgeous vintage inspired décor for the guest to party through the night! Lauren admitted to us that her and Chris snuck up to the balcony in the midst of dancing the night away, and looked down at their reception in awe; it was so magical! And as the song goes, “a little party never killed nobody” and Lauren and Chris found this to be true in the best way possible!

Congrats Lauren and Chris!
