Use More Greenery

Deciding on your bridal bouquet can be one of the most important decisions when planning your wedding, and quite frankly one of the brides’ most exciting moments! Pictures on pinterest show incredible bouquets full of novelty blooms that in reality can cost anywhere between $400-$600. You see an image that seems attainable, yet the harsh reality is, sometimes it’s not in your budget. We hate to see brides let down, and that’s why were excited to tell you that it is possible to get the same look, same affect, and same style for your own bouquet by using more greenery and less flowers. Greens are a big commodity in the wedding world because they are gorgeous, lush, and make a statement. Greenery can compliment almost any wedding style, and it’s a great way to save costs on your stunning bouquet while still being able to have those special blooms that will make your bridal piece looks so special.

Smaller Bridal Party

The next way to save some money on your wedding day is by having a smaller bridal party. Now this could mean one of two things; the first way is by including less people in your bridal party. This means fewer bridesmaids, less groomsmen, no ushers and maybe less children participants. The less people you have in your bridal party, the fewer flowers you have to account for. But, we know some of you have your party set and can’t part with any members. So, we suggest offering a smaller arrangement for each of them. Maybe each bridesmaids carries a single flower down the aisle, or a small nosegay bouquet which would be half of the price of a traditional bridesmaid bouquet. For the men, a simple boutonniere or a little bit of greenery to sit on their lapel is a perfect touch that won’t break the bank.

Buffet Style

The first thing that comes to mind while planning your wedding, after your dress of course, is always the food. It’s all about the food! hether it’s cocktail hour, dinner or the after party, food is always involved in making a big statement on your dream day. Now, as we all know weddings are priced out per head, meaning each guest has a “plate fee” which is for their attendance and sit-down dinner. But, what if we said that a wonderful way to save money is during your reception meal. Instead of offering a plated sit down dinner, change things up and have a grand buffet instead. Buffet style dinner is an awesome way to save money in multiple areas. Your staffing cost will go down, as there are not as many people needing to serve guests, as well as the price per head. In reality, you’ll be paying less for each plate of food and realistically they will be getting more food options than originally planned! There are so many different types of buffets that you can offer and this is another way to save money depending on the food selection of your choice.

Repurpose Décor

One of our favorite ways that we like to save money while helping couples plan their wedding is by repurposing their wedding décor. This can mean a magnitude of things and we truly believe it’s a wonderful way to save money, get a bang for your buck and also go green! Repurposing décor can include a variety of different things from your ceremony arch turning into the backdrop of your sweetheart table, your aisle lanterns moving to your outdoor lounge, or altar arrangements that dress up the reception bar. After months of designing gorgeous floral arrangements for your ceremony, why not re-purpose them into your reception space for everyone to admire all night as well as saving some money and flowers at the same time.

Save on Stationary

We agree that your wedding stationary can be one of the most important aspects while designing your big day as it’s the first looking you’re your wedding, but it is also important to remember there are ways to save money here. The wedding invitation is the true attraction, and of course you are longing for a watercolor design or letterpress script and you can still have that! For menu cards, rsvp and info cards, use a less expensive stationary that still coordinates with your invitation, but don’t break the budget where you don’t have to! Another way to save is by having all information on your wedding website! Send out your invitation and direct all of your guests to the Wedding Wire or Knot account for RSVP, menus, location information and more! Going paperless is the new best way to save!
